There is a global conscience convoy in response to the statement by the egyptian journalists’ syndicate with delegations from over 65 countries who are trying to provide humanitarian assistance into gaza and are trying to cross the rafah border. the rafah border is, according to egypt, closed from the israeli side. however true this is, this is legally a sovereign border between egypt and gaza. there needs to be global pressure on egypt to defy overreaching israeli authority and insist on our right to provide humanitarian aid.
The Global Conscience Convoy is a global call, initiated by the Egyptian Syndicate of Journalists to:
End the war.
Peacefully demand opening the Rafah Crossing, for all humanitarian aid (food, water, medication, and fuel) to enter sustainably, and for an unconditional exit for the critically wounded.
Demand medical, relief, humanitarian and journalistic crews enter Gaza.
Support the Palestinian people in standing against Israel’s expulsion plans.
The convoy was planned to depart from Cairo on November 24 and cross Sinai to Rafah. But we encountered a setback in the efforts to obtain security clearances.
We are still working around the clock; help us make this convoy happen:
Post a video endorsing the convoy and/or expressing your intent to take part in it
Post a photo with a note: “Let the #GlobalConscienceConvoy go, #OpenRafahCrossing” on twitter and instagram
egypt responds to international pressure more than internal pressure, so here is how you can help according to their website:
There are many ways you can help:
Write to the Egyptian embassy in your country with a version of this form letter, asking them to grant safe passage to the convoy
Write to your elected representatives asking them to join the convoy
Write to anyone you know in the media, asking them to join the convoy - or at least to cover it
Write to friends or people you think may be able to join the convoy
